Jamey Stillings

Jamey Stillings has captured some great images of the bridge at Hoover Dam during its construction, circa March 2009. I've traveled many times across the winding road this bridge will replace, during family trips from Tucson to Las Vegas. Check out his work here.

Michael Wolf

I recently saw Michael Wolf's book The Transparent City at a local Barnes and Noble, not in the photography section but in the architecture section. Commissioned by the 'Museum of Contemporary Photography, Columbia College Chicago, and the U.S. Equities Realty Artist-in-Residence program,' it looks at the city of Chicago in 2007. Edward Burtynsky

I reccently saw Edward Burtynsky's Oil at Hasted Hunt Kraeutler in NYC. The project began in 1997, and covers a gamut of locations like the Middle East, Canada, and Los Angeles. The show is up until Nov. 28th.

Also check out a film about him called Manufactured Landscapes, which offers a revelatory perspective on China's industrial landscape (from manufacture to e-waste), as well as a slide show of his other works at the end of the DVD.

Let me start off this blog by explaining a little about myself and what I hope to accomplish with it.

My first camera was a Ninja Turtles rangefinder (an orange Raphael model in 110 format that superimposed a ninja turtle onto every frame). My parents gave it to me when I was about six and I've had some sort of camera with me ever since.

I am a freelance photographer and photo assistant living in Brooklyn.

I want to use this blog to share my findings on photography, post updates etc.
